Bookstall is on today July 28th

I may be running a bit late as I was watching the Opening Ceremony last night and am a bit behind getting ready. The sky is cloudy but I don't think any rain is forecast. I've many new things this week and also 7 wine boxes (3 large, 4 small) but they wont last long so be quick.

As an incentive, the first person to repeat the following phrase will be entitled to choose 2 free catalogues off the stall:

"You're absolutely right, Paul McCartney can't sing."

Come on, I can't be the only person to think so. Andrew.

2012 Olympic logo - Antipodean designer?

Last year there was a threat of an Iranian boycott of the Olympic Games due to the choice of the Olympic logo, in that if you rotated and re-arranged the numbers it would be possible to spell 'ZION'. This is quite plainly ridiculous.

No, it is perfectly obvious that the designer at Wolf Olins was from, or had a close affinity to, the Antipodes. Either that or the Games organisers sought to harness a little of our sporting prowess to empower the athletes from Great Britain and other nations. What other reason could there be for stylised maps of both New Zealand and Australia appearing on the logo?
Map of Nu Zild a.k.a. Godzone
Number One
Map of Straya

The Big Fat Zero

Completely evident isn't it! Now, whenever you look the Olympic logo you will not be able to see anything other than little old Enzed and that other island.

Bookstall is on today July 21st

I don't flipping believe it! Blue sky and no prospect of rain. Quite a few new things this week and a large number of cigar boxes as well. There's a free box under the table so have a browse in there as well.

As an incentive, the first person to repeat the following Henry David Thoreau quote will be entitled to two free catalogues.

'The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation'.

   See you soon, Andrew.

Bookstall is NOT on today July 6th

The weather forecast is too dodgy today to do the market, so I'm going to put my feet up and watch the Tour de France on ITV4. Maybe summer will arrive for next week. Andrew.
